England retells old tales afresh, raising his narrative to an epic level through haunting poetic images of uninhabitable landscapes, surreal beasts and underwater worlds. His visionary drawings of toppling towers, crumbling city walls and blood red skies, suggest a humanity at the breaking point, in the grip of existential and spiritual crises far away in time, yet curiously resonant today.” -William J Curtis
