Immanuel Mifsud is an author and poet who has won numerous literary awards, among them the European Union Prize for Literature. His books have been translated into various languages and published by some of the most prestigous European publishers. Mifsud is also active in the theatrical scene, both as a director and playwright. The last two plays he has written, Daqsxejn ta' Requiem lil Leli and Dik is-Siġra f'Nofs ta' Triq, were written in verse and produced by Teatru Anon and Teatru Malta. Mifsud teaches literature at the University of Malta.
