Born in 1982, Claudia Aloisio is an author of children's books, including the Terramaxka Prize finalists Il-Pupa tax-Xelter (KKM, 2021) and Il-Bebbuxa Trumbetta (KKM, 2022). Her publications include works in the 'timeslip' genre, short stories and picture books. She writes in Maltese, and her writing marries imagination with history, culture, nature, emotions, adventure and anything else that may leave a significant mark on our lives. Although her writing is aimed at children, neither does she sugar-coat the realities of life, warts and all. Aloisio also serves as the History Coordinator at the Giovanni Curmi Post-Seconday School in Naxxar. She is currently reading for a doctorate at the University of Malta. She is also a mother to Daniel and Nina, who often serve as an inspiration for her stories, as does the old house in which she lives and for which she has a great fondness – to go along with her love of family, food and, naturally, books.
