Since 2008, the Malta Film Commission has been backing local filmmakers through various schemes to boost local productions. Given the abundance of untapped ideas in the Maltese literary scene, there is a great opportunity for filmmakers to seriously consider adaptations for both film and TV. By exploring the impact of book-to-screen adaptations, MFC aims to foster cultural enrichment, engage the audience, and encourage creative exploration while supporting the growth of both the literary and entertainment industries. The presentation by Susan Ronald and Jean Pierre Borg from the Malta Film Commission will focus on the schemes available and serve to bridge the gap between authors, publishers and filmmakers.
