Participants will learn about traditional bookbinding methods, materials and contemporary handmade book designs, with the opportunity of making a small book of their own. Glen Calleja is a bookbinder and book artist. Calleja is the founder of Kotba Calleja, a small bindery in Rabat, offering a variety of services. He applies traditional bookbinding techniques to contemporary design principles to create unique books and small bespoke book editions. He also researches and creates other paper products ranging from paper bowls to bespoke stationery. Calleja started his bookbinding journey with renowned designer bookbinder Lori Sauer (BINDING re:DEFINED) and continues to be her student. He has conducted many bookbinding and paper craft workshops mostly based on thinking by making and the question of what makes a book.
