Join us for an intriguing evening with Anthony Horowitz, one of the UK’s most prolific and versatile writers, as he delves with a particular focus into his illustrious career in crime fiction. This event will be hosted by Prof. James Corby from the English Department at the University of Malta, offering a rare opportunity to explore the mind of a master storyteller.ย 

Anthony Horowitz is also an acclaimed writer for adults and was commissioned to write two new Sherlock Holmes novels The House of Silk and Moriarty. He was also commissioned by the Ian Fleming Estate to write continuation novels for James Bond with Trigger Mortis and Forever and Day, published in 2015 and 2018 respectively.ย  The third, and final, novel in the series With a Mind to Kill was published in May 2022.

Anthonyโ€™s award-winning novel Magpie Murders was published in October 2016 to critical acclaim and was serialised on BritBox at the beginning of 2022 with Lesley Manville in the lead role.ย  It was televised on the BBC in 2023. The sequel, Moonflower Murders will be released in the Autumn of 2024. His new series featuring Detective Hawthorne and a sidekick called Anthony Horowitz has five books so far: The Word is Murder, The Sentence is Death, A Line to Kill, The Twist of a Knife and the recently published (April 2024) Close to Death.

Anthony is responsible for creating and writing some of the UKโ€™s most beloved and successful television series including Midsomer Murders and he is the writer and creator of award-winning drama series Foyleโ€™s War, which was the Winner of the Lew Grade Audience award for BAFTA.ย 

Since 2019 Anthony has been a patron of Suffolk Home-Start, a charity supporting families throughout Suffolk and he was awarded a CBE in 2022 for his services to literature.
