The book by Andrea Polinelli pieces together the story of Argentinian musician Gato Barbieri, shedding light on who Gato really was; why he decided to move to Italy; how and to what extent he influenced the development of Italian jazz; what traces he left in pop music and what kind of contribution he gave to the works of some of the most innovative Italian film directors, such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Marco Ferreri, Giuliano Montaldo, Gianni Amico and Alfredo Leonardi. The book has already been launched with success at the Umbria Jazz Festival 2023.
