As part of the Campus Book Festival, Inizjamed will be organising an Open Mic session on Friday 23 March at 7 pm at the University quadrangle. The event will host special guest Jasmin B. Frelih, Slovenian author and winner of the European Union Prize for Literature. This is a unique opportunity for University students and the public to meet the author and hear his words.

Inizjamed bring over to Campus their enthusiasm towards literature, by offering a platform for anybody wishing to share literary excerpts they are passionate about. One can read a poem, a story, do any sort of stand up, sing an original song or express anything deemed shareable with an audience. Interventions are welcome in any dialect or language.

The Campus Book Festival is organised by the National Book Council and the Għaqda tal-Malti, kicking off daily at 9.00am with back-to-back activities planned until 4.00 pm. On Friday the activities will continue until late. The Festival aims to promote literature while giving publishers and book distributors a platform to sell and promote their publications. The Festival’s programme is vast and offers a wide range of events to suit many interests, from book launches and talks to film screenings, workshops and live music.
