The National Book Council was responsible for curating the literary section of the ‘Spins and Spells’ Malta Arts Festival event on the 21st of July, 2015 at Auberge d’Italie, Valletta where a selection of poetry by young upcoming poets Leanne Ellul, Kit Azzopardi, Marie Gion and Clifford Jo Zahra was read to an altogether new audience. An intimate, yet powerful programme in which poetry and music intertwined; Bach is juxtaposed with gritty contemporary works. Curated to depict contrast, dynamic cellist Gabriella Swallow portrayed the dramatic power of sound of the furies and the sublime sweetness of Bach to create one unforgettable experience.
