The National Book Council (NBC) is pleased to announce two new employees within its team: Jasmine Bajada and Teodor Reljić.
Jasmine Bajada will be occupying the role of manager, and thus will be working with the rest of the team in the organisation of the main events, contests, funds, and initiatives of the NBC throughout year. Bajada read English and Maltese at the University of Malta and obtained a Master’s degree in English literature and criticism. Over the past two years, she worked as a researcher and lecturer at the same university. Her critical essays and book reviews have been featured in various international journals such as Fourth Genre and CounterText. She also writes poetry in Maltese and her latest work has been published in Modern Poetry in Translation.
Teodor Reljić will be holding the position of marketing manager, and he will be helping the NBC in public relations and managing the marketing campaigns of the various events, contests, funds and initiatives of the Council. Reljić worked as a freelance journalist and content writer between 2016 and 2020, after which he served as a communications officer at UNHCR Malta until August 2023. He established himself as a leading cultural journalist during his time at MaltaToday, where he also served as a film critic. He is the author of a novel, and a series of comics, as well as writing the script of films and short films in Malta.
The NBC is eager to start working with these two new employees, who are now part of a team that is constantly growing in order to offer a better service to the stakeholders in the publishing industry.
