Qarn, a 2025 publication from Aphroconfuso, is a transition memoir, a protest essay, a poetic manifesto, a utopian strategy, and a love letter. Romeo returns to Malta for a brief visit, but bad news prevents him from travelling back to London. Instead, he embarks on a far more arduous journey, one he has always known he would eventually have to make. Qarn is the story of Romeo’s return to home, his language and his language – a return, ultimately, to himself.
