Contemporary Austrian writer Marie Gamillscheg, special guest of the German-language book stand, will read from her latest novel Aufruhr der Meerestiere (2022), nominated for this year’s prestigious German Book Prize. Centred around marine biologist Luise, the many-faceted novel deals with topical issues around family, work and complex relations between body and self, woman and man, humans and animals. The reading will be followed by a book signing session and the opportunity for the audience to meet the author. This event is kindly sponsored by the Austrian Embassy for Malta.
