This story takes us back to the time of the Knights of St John, where we meet the knight Jean de Villers, the greatest friend of Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt. Jean was assigned a very important role: to take care of the water supply of the Maltese Islands. We see Jean investigating the wells, cisterns, spiers and tunnels due to the lack of water. With Jeanโs help, the Grand Master followed the report of the engineer Padre Tomasucci, who recommended the building of the aqueducts, a project where high quality water would come down from Rabat and ฤฆad-Dingli and reach the fountain outside Valletta. Jeanโs work increased since he would often check the progress of the project that was so important for the Maltese Islands.
