Many suggestions were brought forward during the meeting of which the following emerge as the salient points; namely that Local Authors have to submit an application to benefit of the scheme and have to register their books with an ISBN supplied by the National Book Council who are the agents in Malta representing the International ISBN Agency. The system will be up and running once the Malta Libraries Computerised system will migrate to Vsmart software and reporting on book loans could be easily retrieved and calculated. Hopefully, this will take place by the end of this year.
