The official prize giving ceremony took place on the 5th of December 2014 at Auberge de Castille. All National Book Prize finalists were present alongside distinguished guests for official speeches by the Prime Minister and the Executive Chairman of the National Book Council. The winners for every category are as follows: LITERARY WORKS (NOVELS IN MALTESE) CATEGORY WALID NABHAN L-EŻODU TAĊ-ĊIKONJI LITERARY WORKS (SHORT STORIES IN MALTESE) CATEGORY ALFRED SANT ĊPAR – AKTAR RAKKONTI U DIVERTIMENTI MALTESE POETRY CATEGORY IMMANUEL MIFSUD PENELOPI TISTENNA BOOKS FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS (AGES 8 TO 12 YEARS) CATEGORY ADRIAN GRIMA VLEĠĠA KKARGATA TRANSALTION CATEGORY TONI AQUILINA L-ALLA TAL-ĦERBA TA’ YASMIN REZA NON-LITERARY BOOKS IN ENGLISH OR MALTESE RELATING TO HUMANITIES CATEGORY MARIO AZZOPARDI VERĠNI SAGRI, DEMONJI U BOLOH GĦAL ALLA PRIZE FOR THE BEST PRODUCTION OF A BOOK IN MALTESE MERLIN PUBLISHERS LIMITED WHAT HAPPENS IN BRUSSELS STAYS IN BRUSSELS PRIZE FOR THE BEST PRODUCTION OF A BOOK IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE MIDSEA BOOKS LATE MEDIEVAL MALTA (1091-1500) PRIZE FOR BEST ILLUSTRATOR TREVOR ZAHRA TQASQIS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR CONTRIBUTION TO LITERATURE AND/OR BOOKS PROF. GODFREY WETTINGER Maltese historian who specialized in Middle Ages studies, wrote several seminal books about slavery and placenames in Malta and together with Michael Fsadni discovered the Kantilena, the oldest Maltese text.
