The National Book Council (NBC) is thrilled to reveal the official poster for this year’s edition of the Malta Book Festival, taking place at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC), Ta’ Qali from 4-8 November.

Now in its 47th edition, the Festival has been growing from strength to strength, with last year’s edition attracting upwards of 40,000 at the MFCC’s big tent for a packed five days of book-buying and events, with over 40 exhibitors plying their wares while an ongoing programme of 100+ events kept everyone – irrespective of age group – intrigued and engaged.

The result of a collaboration between photographer Tümer Gençtürk and graphic designer Angele Azzopardi of UNGL Studio, the poster – which comes in two language variants – beautifully captures the essence of this year’s festival, as embodied in the tagline, ‘Uncover the Story’.

Playfully evoking detective noir aesthetics, the poster – as ever, a culmination of the Festival’s visual identity in any given year – draws prospective visitors into a compelling world of mystery, inviting everyone to discover that perfect book that seems to be made just for them, at the island’s leading celebration of literary culture.

“The Malta Book Festival has cemented itself as an enduring staple of Malta’s cultural calendar. While its ongoing evolution is key to its endurance, its core values remain the same – nurturing the love of the book for visitors from all walks of life,” NBC Executive Chairperson Mark Camilleri said.

Praising the beautifully rendered aesthetics of the poster, Camilleri added that its chosen approach also serves as something of a tease for the international special guests who will grace the 2026 edition of the Festival, and which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Crucially, the poster will come to life with the release of the Festival’s video teaser, devised by Rupture Studio and launching in early September.

“Both the poster and the trailer have a cinematic polish which adds an irresistible flourish to our promotional campaign, and such a leap in quality is matched by the NBC’s motivation to make the Festival a bigger and better experience for all involved – visitors and exhibitors alike,” Camilleri said.
