The Festival will be held from Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 October at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre (MFCC), Ta’ Qali – Malta’s largest international conference and exhibition venue. Accessible and with large parking facilities, the MFCC offers the ideal logistical possibilities to our partners and stakeholders. The Malta Book Festival has now established itself as the most prestigious and foremost book celebration in the country’s cultural calendar. Organised by the National Book Council, the literary festival is one of the popular draws of the autumn months in the Maltese islands and annually boasts the participation of an ever-growing number of exhibitors, also offering extensive networking opportunities for industry professionals. The application form, with updated rules, regulations and provisions, is open to all local and international publishers, book distributors, bookshops and book agencies. NGOs and public entities, whose field of activity involves the publication of books or the promotion of literature, as well as self-published authors, are also eligible to apply. All stand fees will be subsidised by the NBC, and reduced by 75% in a bid to support prospective exhibitors. Like in previous editions, exhibitors may also request a full refund on the application fee if they register for the Exhibitors’ Media Refund Scheme and promote the Malta Book Festival, their events, books and/or participation at the Festival to a wider audience through the advertising and promotion in the local press and boosted social media posts. Interested participants are urged to apply early and submit, along with their application, a detailed list of the events they would like to organise as part of the cultural programme of the Festival. They are respectfully reminded that early applications will be given preference in the programme of events and are encouraged to peruse all terms and conditions before applying. The application should be preferably filled online on the National Book Council’s website, or sent in by post, and must be received by Monday 12 June 2023, while the payment of the stand fees is to be effected by 30 June 2023.
