The National Book Council (NBC) is pleased to announce that the 2021 National Book Prize will be presented on 10 December during a ceremony held under the auspices of the Offices of the Prime Minister at the Auberge de Castille. The 2021 National Book Prize winners will be published shortly afterwards on the NBCย Facebook pageย and website โ€“ย www.ktieb.org.mt.ย 

The National Book Prize is presented annually by the National Book Council with the aim of celebrating the highest achievements in literary and research publishing during the preceding year. The National Book Prize is awarded in eight different categories, including Novels, Short-stories, Poetry, Translation, Literary Non-Fiction, Drama, General Research, and Biographical and Historiographic Research. This year there were no submissions for the Drama category.

The winning titles are selected by an independent adjudication panel from a shortlist which has been announced earlier in the year.
