Mal-mistiedna tkellimna dwar l-esperjenza tal-emigrazzjoni fil-ħajja attwali u fil-kitba tagħha, dwar ir-riċerka akkademika tal-awtriċi dwar emigranti nisa, l-irwol tan-nostalġija minkejja esperjenza emigratorja li rnexxiet, u dwar l-involviment tal-kittieba f’movimenti għad-drittijiet tan-nisa fl-Awstralja, fost oħrajn. Isma’ l-intervista sħiħa hawnhekk. Lou Drofenik kibret Malta sakemm emigrat lejn l-Awstralja, u illumn tgħix f’Victoria. Għal ħafna snin kienet edukatriċi fi skejjel privati iżda issa tiddedika ħinha għal kitba full-time. Ir-rumanzi tagħha, li rebħu bosta premji, jesploraw aspetti differenti tal-kultura Maltija u l-esperjenza tal-imigrazzjoni. Hija rebħet il-Premju Nazzjonali tal-Ktieb fl-2017 bir-rumanz tagħha The Confectioner’s Daughter. Fl-2018 Lou ippubblikat The Reluctant Healer, u l-aktar xogħol reċenti tagħha huwa Echoes – Distant Voices, Distant Lives, ippubblikat fl-2019. Il-Kunsill Nazzjonalli tal-Ktieb jirringrazzja lill-PBS u lill-ħaddiema ta’ Radju Malta 1 għall-għajnuna bix-xandir tal-programm.
