Azzopardi’s short story follows a mysterious woman from Italy who takes up residence in Naxxar where she is engaged by the locals to write epitaphs for the dead. The film, whose production will start in the coming weeks, should be ready for its first screening by November, when it will feature in a special event at the 2018 edition of the Malta Book Festival (MCC, Valletta, 10 November 2018). Visitors to the Festival will be able to watch the premier screening of the film free-of-charge and will have the opportunity to meet both the director of the film and the author. The members of the Adjudication Board for this year were Andrei Vella Laurenti, Charles Calleja and Mario Cassar. Throughout the production period, the team must be in contact with the National Book Council and the Adjudication Board in order to ensure that the project is developing according to the proposal and in line with the application criteria and rules.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] SHARE POST Related Articles CALL FOR TRANSLATORS – Submit your details to the NBC Translators Database News 3rd December, 2025 Read More Book donation by the NBC to Komunità ta’ Santa Marija News 3rd December, 2025 Read More Call For Illustrator Submissions: Feature Your Artwork At The NBC Stand, London Book Fair 2026 (10–12 March) Literary Exports 1st December, 2025 Read More The Literary Export Initiative For Publishers And Authors From Malta (Including London Book Fair, 10–12 March 2026) News 1st December, 2025 Read More NBC salutes the memory of Arthur Gruppetta, founder of Merlin Publishers News 24th November, 2025 Read More Record attendance for the Malta Book Festival as revamped voucher scheme attracts thousands of new readers News 12th November, 2025 Read More 2025 Doreen Micallef National Poetry Contest Winners Announced News 9th November, 2025 Read More The 2025 edition of The Malta Book Festival and From Illustration to Book Exhibition launched at MFCC Festivals 4th November, 2025 Read More NBC Welcomes Its New Team Members News 31st October, 2025 Read More All You Need To Know About The 2025 Malta Book Festival News 27th October, 2025 Read More view all similar news
