The National Book Council (NBC) is pleased to welcome Simone Inguanez and William Zammit as newly-appointed Board Members. 

Simone Inguanez is a writer, translator, editor, and strategist committed to the field of cultural rights. She graduated in law, pursued further studies in social sciences and linguistics, while also gaining solid experience in the field of cultural policy. She has served on the National Council for the Maltese Language since its foundation and has been actively involved in various associations. Her publications include poetry, translations, and collaborative projects with other authors and artists.

William Zammit is a Full Professor, with a teaching career spanning forty years. He has served as Head of the Department of Library Information and Archive Sciences at the University of Malta. Zammit has also occupied the position of President of the National Archives Council, the legally instituted body responsible for Maltese archival heritage. 

He is a member of the Cathedral Museum Managerial Council, the Malta Libraries Council and the Malta Map Society Council. He is the author of various academic books and papers and has been responsible for various research projects.

Inguanez and Zammit will be replacing David Aloisio and Sandra Hili Vassallo. Aloisio concluded his term as Deputy Chairperson of the Board, while Hili Vassallo formally resigned from the board following her engagement as the new Executive Director of the NBC. Omar Seguna will take on the post of new Deputy Chairperson.
