News • Festivals • Malta Book Festival 18th May, 2026 The National Book Council (NBC) is thrilled to unveil its logo and tagline for the upcoming edition of the Malta Book Festival, taking place between 4-8 November at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, Ta’ Qali. This year, we will be inviting visitors to ‘Uncover the Story’ – an apt quest for the island’s leading celebration of book culture, now gearing up for its 47th edition! Once again teaming up with Angele Azzopardi of UNGL Studio, the NBC is excited to officially inaugurate the promotional roll-out for the event, with a visual identity that strongly matches the investigative and exploratory theme for this year’s iteration of this staple event in Malta’s cultural calendar. “The Malta Book Festival is the Council’s most prominent public-facing initiative, built on a long legacy yet evolving over the years to keep up with changing trends in readership, demographics and cultural habits,” NBC Executive Chairperson Mark Camilleri said. “Although we need to account for change and renewal – as we did with great success during a record-breaking edition last year – we are also here to celebrate the root of both the festival and the books that populate it: cracking open that perfect volume that feels like it was written just for you, buoyed by the feeling of fresh discovery and infinite possibility,” Camilleri added. There is more to the theme, however. “In the coming months we will be announcing our exciting special guests for this year’s edition. And the act of investigation and discovery is also very much at the core of their work,” Camilleri teased, adding that the authors in question are both a globally bestselling practitioner of a hugely popular literary genre, and a rising star of European literature who has attracted critical acclaim. The Malta Book Festival will be taking place between 4-8 November during the following times: Wednesday 4/11 09:00-21:00 Thursday 5/11 09:00-13:00; 17:00-21:00 Friday 6/11 09:00-13:00; 17:00-21:00 Saturday 7/11 09:00-21:00 Sunday 8/11 09:00-20:00 More information on the Malta Book Festival will become available online in the months.
