And today, the National Book Council (NBC) is thrilled to reveal the Festival’s tagline, which serves as the ideal expression for this beautiful and democratic vision of the power of literature: BINDING WORLDS. The tagline reflects the multifaceted nature of the publishing process, from the inception of an idea to the final product. Through this play on words, the Festival underscores its commitment to showcasing all aspects of the literary world, from writing and illustration to printing and binding. Building on the concept of different ‘worlds’ within the Festival, the MBF serves as a unifying platform that brings together diverse literary landscapes under one roof. It connects readers, authors, publishers, illustrators and literary enthusiasts from Malta and beyond, fostering an inclusive and enriching environment for all. Apart from the tagline, the NBC can reveal the four distinct ‘worlds’ which will take centre-stage throughout our campaign, leading up to the MBF in November: * Shining the spotlight on star authors, both local and international, attendees will delve into their literary universes and explore their acclaimed works. * Designed for engaging workshops, captivating theatre shows and interactive activities tailored for young readers and school audiences, the Festival promises an immersive experience for all. * Celebrating the diverse spectrum of literature, various book genres and types will be showcased, catering to readers of all interests and preferences. * Focused on hands-on experiences, activities, events and workshops invite attendees to immerse themselves in the art of bookmaking and creative expression. “We are thrilled to unveil the official tagline ‘BINDING WORLDS’ for the Malta Book Festival 2024,” Festival director at the National Book Council, Simona Cassano, said. “This tagline encapsulates the spirit of unity and exploration that lies at the heart of the Festival, inviting readers of all ages and backgrounds to join us on this literary journey.” The launch of the Festival’s exhibitors stands and school registration applications are slated for publication in the coming days.
