Home / News / New appointments at the National Book Council Back to News New appointments at the National Book Council News 13th February, 2020 The National Book Council would like to announce two new appointments within its ranks. Simona Cassano is being entrusted with the role of Executive Director and Matthew Borg will take on the role of Senior Manager. Simona joined the NBC in 2017, at a time when the Council was building its fundamentals anew. Since then she has been pivotal in developing the operational aspect of the department while at the same time injecting in more efficiency which resulted in a bettering of our product. She has two Masters degrees and joined the Council after building a career in the publishing industry in Italy and the Emirates. Matthew worked in journalism prior to joining the Council in 2018, and since then he has collaborated closely with Simona and at the same time taken on new projects and tasks, such as the export of Maltese literature, specifically in the Arab region. Together with the rest of the colleagues he now aims to broaden the reach of our literature abroad in other regions of the world. He graduated in Maltese and is currently furthering his studies. The NBC congratulates these hard-working individual for their appointment and wishes them all the luck for the future.
