The publishing industry has grown significantly over the past few years, and our team has increasingly become larger and professionalised. We are now looking at adding a new member to our team. Working for the NBC provides an opportunity to make a difference in the ever-growing Maltese book industry, supporting the work of all its stakeholders. Our staff use their skills to find innovative, long-lasting solutions to better support authors, publishers, illustrators, translators, editors. We have a strong and highly-skilled team of people, and we keep learning and growing together, having all started out with small roles. We are offering a six-week placement to assist in the preparations, logistics and organisation of the Malta Book Festival, which will take place on 3-7 November. We are looking for a candidate who is committed and passionate, would thrive in a diverse and multi-cultural work environment, and is keen to bring new innovative ideas, skills and solutions. The Cultural Organiser will be assisting in the preparation, organisation and management of the Malta Book Festival, executing outreach and assisting the team in daily admin tasks. This is a six-week appointment (40 hours per week). Job requirements: good knowledge of Microsoft Office skills and social media excellent command of both Maltese and English preferable previous work experience in event organisation driving licence Covid-19 vaccination certificate VAT number To apply and find out about the salary package, send in your CV and a cover letter to joe.debattista@gov.mt by Tuesday 28 September 2021.
